Parking #InInglewood

As rich and culturally diverse as many other facets of Inglewood are, so is our accessibility for parking and transportation. Whether you are walking, cycling, driving, or scooting through the community, you can be assured to experience an even flow of transportation and finding proper parking accommodations. In addition, Inglewood is also accessible by water. For groups and individuals floating off the Elbow and Bow rivers, there are multiple access points to the community to enjoy our shops and services.

BICYCLE PARKING:

Inglewood proudly boasts bicycle-friendly parking along its main and side streets. The presence of bike racks located conveniently in front of community businesses ensures cyclists feel safe and confident while riding and parking their bicycles in Inglewood. The Inglewood BIA is a champion of walkability and bicycle-friendly pathways – we wish to extend this sentiment to residents, and guests and work towards building a pedestrian community. If you see a location that requires bike parking, contact Calgary Cycling. Please inform the city cycle team this is important to you as a customer and client in Inglewood businesses.

VEHICLE PARKING:

Despite Ingelwood’s proximity to downtown, multiple businesses and amenities, the community features a host of mixed parking spaces. Inglewood prides itself on parking feasibility, and convenience and works to ensure inhabitants and visitors from outside communities accessibility to explore our shops. Street parking accommodations are available throughout Inglewood’s Main Street and adjacent side streets. Residents and businesses ask that visitors respect two-hour parking limitations as short-term parking is beneficial for our small businesses. Many Inglewood businesses provide two or more spaces for customer and visitor parking.

  • Free Parking
  • The entire 1400 block of 9th Avenue
  • There is a free parking area off 12th Street – south of the Zoo Bridge
  • The Atlantic Arts Block (9th Avenue, 9th Street)  offers a mix of free, one-hour underground parking and $3 parking on the weekend. Click HERE for details

*Surface parking at the back of the Arts Block is beautifully framed by the pollinator garden*

  • Two-Hour Parking
  • A number of side streets off 9th Avenue have 2-hour parking available – some paid, some free

  • Permit Only Parking
  • On 8th Avenue, west of 12th Street (there is also 2-hour parking on this block so it is mixed)
  • On 10th Avenue East of 13th Street

Parking is removed on the south and north side of 9th Avenue for the bus-only lanes during peak hours on the weekdays (3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.). This sucks and the City should rethink the impact it has on small businesses.
